WHAT WE DO

Since 2013, our mala beads have been handcrafted with meticulous care, much love and meditative mindset. Our customers often tell us that our mala beads are the highest quality malas they’ve ever had. We only work with authentic natural gemstones, Sandalwood and Rudraksha. We choose each bead one-by-one, hand-knot it with precision on a quality thread and make each tassel by hand. Every step of our process is made here in California.

WHO WE ARE

My name is Mishka and I’m so happy you found this shop! Everything you find here is the result of my own spiritual journey. It started with a road trip across the US in the beginning of 2012. When my husband Neil, our cat Bentley and I left New York, we didn’t have much planned. We left our jobs, sold most of our possessions and packed everything we had left into our truck. A highlighted map of the US that previously hung on our living room wall was the "plan" and we set out on our journey. Wandering across this beautiful country with our cat and everything we owned was amazing and difficult at the same time. It stripped away layers of comfort and distractions and left us raw and exposed. In the end, it inspired us to live more authentic lives. When we arrived in California, instead of finding another job in our field, we decided to pause and find a meaningful and fulfilling path. We believe that mindfulness is the first step towards a more peaceful world and we hope to inspire your own journey through our work.

WHAT INSPIRES MISHKA SAMUEL JEWELRY

My daily yoga practice naturally led me to meditation. I became drawn to gemstone mala beads yet I couldn’t find any that I truly connected with. I remembered my childhood obsession with crystals. I’ve kept a small Chevron Amethyst palm stone since I was 10 years old and it literally travelled the world with me, never leaving my pocket or purse. I never fully realized that this Amethyst stone was my guide, rather than just a calming object, until this moment. I dove into the world of healing crystals again. Mala designs began to pour out of my mind like they’ve been there for years, waiting. I fell in love with the peaceful, mindful work of creating each mala. Before long, there were too many to keep so I shared them with others.

I’m obsessed with crystals, malas, yoga, meditation and wanderlust. These are the tools that helped me to find my path and inspired a complete change in my life. I design authentic malas that I hope will empower your own journey. Our mala beads are mindfully handcrafted with carefully chosen beads and with much love and care.
